Mia König vor dem großen Wurf

Hemau (ko). Mia König steht im Finale um den Titel des „THW-YOUNGstar“. Eine Runde weiter heißt es nach dem Wochenend-Camp in Kiel für das Hemauer Handball-Talent Mia König, die inzwischen für den ESV 1927 Regensburg in der Bayern- und Landesliga unterwegs ist. Durch hervorragende Leistung hat sie sich über mehrere Runden hinweg gegen etwa 250 Mitbewerber durchgesetzt und steht nun im Finale um den begehrten Titel des „THW-YOUNGstar“, der unter anderem vom prominenten Handballverein THW Kiel vergeben wird.

In der im März anstehenden Star-Exzellenzwoche wird Mia nun fünf Tage lang intensiv mit den anderen sechs Finalisten trainieren. Positionsspezifisches Einzeltraining, Krafttraining, aber auch Feedbackgespräche stehen auf dem Programm. Am Ende der Woche wählt das THW-Expertenteam den „THW-YOUNGstar“ aus. Bewertet werden die Teilnehmer übrigens unter sportlichen, kreativen und sozialen Gesichtspunkten. Allein mit handballerischem Können stünde die 13-Jährige also nicht da, wo sie jetzt steht. Dass es Mia geschafft hat, macht ihren Heimatverein HG Hemau/Beratzhausen stolz. Spricht es doch, neben der individuellen Klasse, auch für die herausragende Jugendarbeit, die auf dem Tangrintel geleistet wird.

Dem Gewinner winkt ein Stipendium. Dies beinhaltet mehrere fünftägige Lehrgänge in Kiel, ein exklusives, individuelles Training mit den THW-Nachwuchscoaches sowie eine Betreuung durch Experten wie Fitnesstrainer und Ernährungswissenschaftler. Nach Möglichkeit erhält der „THW-YOUNGstar“ sogar Kontakt zu den Patenspielern Andreas Wolff und Patrick Wiencek.
